Aroid Soil-Free Potting Mix

This is our house-made general potting mix for aroids (most houseplants). It is a "soil-free" mix, meaning it does not contain traditional garden soil. Instead, our mix is made of coco coir, coco peat, perlite, orchid bark, pumice, horticultural charcoal, slow-release fertilizer, and worm castings. These components provide good aeration, drainage, and moisture retention, which are all imperative functions of growing indoor plants in containers.
